Evertz 7708LR

About

The Evertz 7708LR monitors the 7708LR card, which is a fiber-optic receiver designed for extended L-Band and wideband RF signals. It converts optical input from a companion transmitter into electrical output, enabling reliable signal transport over long distances via fiber. This module is part of Evertz's 7700 series and integrates seamlessly into their multiframe systems.

Note

When you configure a DataMiner element using this connector, set the Bus Address to the slot number that the device occupies in the frame.

Key Features

  • Card-level monitoring: Provides real-time status feedback from the connected 7708LR receiver card, including signal integrity, gain settings, and fault conditions.
  • Control interface: Enables remote configuration of card parameters such as gain adjustment, alarm thresholds, and SmartMON™ settings via VistaLINK®.
  • Signal path awareness: Tracks optical input levels and RF output metrics to ensure optimal performance and early fault detection.management.

Use Case

  • Challenge: Transporting high-frequency RF signals over long distances without degradation, while maintaining visibility into signal health and system status.
  • Solution: Deploy the 7708LR to receive fiber-optic signals from a remote transmitter, converting them to electrical output with precise gain control and integrated monitoring.
  • Benefit: Enables robust, scalable RF signal distribution with centralized control and diagnostics, reducing maintenance overhead and improving system reliability.
