About

The Juniper Networks Manager connector enables DataMiner to monitor and configure Juniper network devices via SNMP. It provides full visibility into device health, interface performance, routing protocols, and network services, while also supporting configuration management operations such as backup, restore, and firmware upgrade via SSH.

Use Cases

Managing High-Density Interface Environments

Solution: The connector's Measurement Configuration Table and polling disable controls let operators selectively enable only relevant interfaces and tables, using description filters or operational state as criteria.

Centralized Firmware and Configuration Lifecycle Management

Prerequisites

  • SNMP access (v2 or v3 depending on range) is required for all monitoring functionality.
  • SSH credentials are required for interface state changes, backup, restore, and firmware upgrade operations.
  • HTTP credentials are required for polling PTP and API information.
  • Network reachability from the DataMiner Agent to the Juniper device is required for device communication over ports 22 (SSH), 161 (SNMP) and 3000 for HTTP or 3443 for HTTPS.
