The Arris ME-7000 is a multi-channel video processing platform used in broadcast and cable headend environments. It encodes, transcodes, and multiplexes video, audio, and data services for delivery over IP or RF networks.
This connector brings full operational visibility and control of the ME-7000 into DataMiner — covering encoding health, active alarms, output multiplex configuration, chassis redundancy state, and more — so operators can monitor and manage their entire ME-7000 fleet from a single pane of glass.
Key Features
Real-time encoder and mux visibility: Keeps a live picture of all encoders, multiplexers, GigE and BNC interfaces, output programs, and signal routing updated every 60 seconds, giving operators instant awareness of the device state.
Integrated alarm management: Surfaces active alarms directly in the DataMiner Alarm Console and supports acknowledgment and clearing without leaving DataMiner, reducing the need to access individual device web interfaces.
Chassis redundancy monitoring: Tracks the redundancy mode, failback configuration, and primary/backup device relationships, so operators always know the protection state of each unit and can trigger failover or failback actions when needed.

Centralized headend monitoring
Challenge: A broadcast operator runs a large headend with many ME-7000 encoders. Engineers need a single view of encoder health, alarm state, and mux configuration without switching between individual device web interfaces.
Solution: Each ME-7000 is represented as a DataMiner element. The operator builds a dashboard or visual overview aggregating status, alarms, and key metrics across all units in one place.

Proactive fault response
Challenge: When encoding or multiplexing faults occur, the time between detection and resolution directly affects service quality. Manual monitoring of individual units is too slow and inconsistent.
Solution: DataMiner raises alarms the moment the connector detects a fault condition on any ME-7000. Operators can acknowledge and clear alarms directly from the DataMiner Alarm Console, and automated workflows can be configured to escalate or resolve known fault patterns without manual intervention.

Service continuity assurance during redundancy events
Challenge: Headend operators rely on the ME-7000's chassis redundancy (CRED) to protect service delivery, but knowing when a switchover has occurred and whether the backup unit is healthy requires visibility that the device web interface alone does not easily provide at scale.
Solution: The connector continuously monitors the redundancy mode, backup device state, and failback configuration of every ME-7000 in the fleet. DataMiner raises an alarm if a unit enters backup mode unexpectedly or if the redundancy configuration drifts from the expected state.

Prerequisites
Network connectivity on port 443 (default) between the DataMiner Agent and the ME-7000 device is required.
Valid ME-7000 user credentials (username and password) must be configured on the connector's General page before polling can begin.
DataMiner 10.4.0 [CU14] or higher is required to run this connector version.
