DataMiner Agents

A DataMiner Agent (DMA) or node is a physical or virtual compute instance running the DataMiner software. You typically install a DMA using the DataMiner installer.

This section of the documentation provides detailed instructions on properly configuring a DataMiner Agent. It covers various aspects such as modifying the DataMiner ID of a DMA, configuring the IP network ports and polling request timeout, and more.

To back up your DMA, you have the option to use either the DataMiner Taskbar Utility or DataMiner Cube. Alternatively, in case you use self-hosted DataMiner storage nodes instead of the recommended Storage as a Service, you can follow the backup procedure specific to your databases. Depending on the backup method employed, you can restore your DMA using the Taskbar Utility.

To ensure you have access to the latest DataMiner features, you can upgrade your DMA through the Update Center, Taskbar Utility, or System Center. From DataMiner 10.3.0/10.3.3 onwards, separate DataMiner web upgrades are available. These upgrades allow you to access the latest web app features without requiring a complete DataMiner upgrade.

Furthermore, you will find instructions on monitoring the health of your DMA, uninstalling your DMA, managing DataMiner packages, and exporting and importing them on your DMA.
